The Faith Gap 🫗
Hey Income Flippers,
Picture a cup.
You drop a marble in it. Nothing happens.
You drop another one in. Nothing happens.
Another one. Still nothing.
You do this every day for months. The cup looks the same as the day you started. No sound, no signal, no sign that any of it is working.
And then one day you drop a marble in that cup, and it spills over.
That's it. That's the whole business.
That's lead generation. That's customer acquisition. That's the deal that closes in month nine from the conversation you had in month two. That's the compounding nobody sees until it shows up all at once and looks like luck.
Here's the part few understand.
The distance from the bottom of that cup to the top has a name. I call it the faith gap.
The faith gap is the space between the work and the payoff.
It's where you're doing everything right and getting nothing back.
It's where the numbers don't move, the phone doesn't ring, and the people around you start asking how much longer you're going to do this.
The faith gap is where almost everybody quits.
Not because they're lazy. Not because they picked the wrong business.
They quit because the cup looked empty and they couldn't see how close they were to overflow.
💭 Let me ask you something.
When you quit, what are you actually saying?
You're not saying the market is hard. You're not saying the model doesn't work. You're saying: I'm done betting on myself.
That's the real transaction. And that's the one you don't forgive.
You can lose money and make it back. You can lose a deal and find another one. You can lose a year and still build something great. But the day you decide you're not worth the bet anymore, that follows you around.
This is why I love real estate entrepreneurs so much.
Every one of you is a bet on yourself. 🎯
The agent who takes the listing appointment is betting on herself.
The wholesaler knocking on the door of a distressed property is betting on himself.
The investor writing the offer, the lender funding the deal, the property manager taking on twelve more doors, the person who left a salary to build something of their own.
Nobody handed you a paycheck for showing up. You went out and made one.
That's not a small thing. That's the whole game.
🎯 You don't control the overflow. You control the marbles.
Here is the mistake people make. They try to force the spill.
They change the model every six weeks.
They chase a new lead source because the last one "didn't work." They redesign the website instead of having conversations.
They mistake motion for marbles.
You can't control when the cup overflows. You never could.
What you control is three things:
1️⃣ What goes in the cup. Not activity. The right activity. Conversations held. Offers made. Follow-ups completed. The one or two inputs that actually fill your cup, done daily, whether you feel like it or not.
2️⃣ Every time you switch strategies, you empty it and start over at zero. Most people aren't behind because they didn't work hard. They're behind because they've restarted eleven times.
3️⃣ The difference between crossing the faith gap and quitting three marbles short is the people you surround yourself with.
You will not out-discipline the faith gap alone. I've never seen anyone do it.
What gets you through is proximity. Being in a room with people who dropped marbles into an empty cup for two years and are now watching it spill over. People who can look at your empty cup and tell you, with total confidence, that it's filling.
They're not guessing. They've been where you are.
That's what a real community does. It doesn't just give you tactics. It gives you evidence. Evidence that the work pays, that the gap ends, that the people who kept going are on the other side.
When your own faith runs thin, you borrow theirs.
🔥 So here's the play
Pick the one or two activities that actually fill your cup. Write them down.
Do them daily for the next 90 days. No swapping. No restarting.
And get yourself in a room with people who have already crossed the gap.
Then trust the math.
It's simple.
It's not easy.
But it's simple.
You've already made the bet. You made it the day you chose this life over a salary and a schedule someone else set for you.
Don't unmake it three marbles short. 🎯
Always Forward,
Rob

P.S. The fastest way to cross the faith gap is to stand next to people who have already made it through. That's the power of the GRID Investor Network. Agents, investors, lenders, and operators in the same room helping each other stay consistent, keep putting marbles in the cup, and keep going when the payoff isn't visible yet.
