Your Business Can't Outgrow You 🪴

Hey Income Flippers,

It started with a hypothesis that originated from pain.

Like so many other real estate entrepreneurs, my career started by calling my sphere, making cold calls, and attending business networking events. And while I was good at it, I knew there had to be a better way.

I would lock myself in a room and call people all day, making one connection at a time. It felt inefficient, exhausting, and painful. That said, it worked. But it felt slow.

One day, I asked myself a better question:

“Who would I have to become, and what would I have to do to attract people to me instead of constantly chasing?”

That single question changed everything.

Two years earlier, my wife and I decided to become full-time real estate investors with no clue, no plan, and no mentor.

We made a lot of mistakes. But we also did a lot of things right. And I realized I could help other real estate entrepreneurs on their journey.

That is when I decided to start a real estate investing meetup. The one I always wished existed but could never find.

One built on the belief of giving first, contributing, and helping people grow.

I wanted to create a community that fostered collaboration over competition and celebrated the real estate entrepreneur on their journey.

That first meeting started with five people. Today, it has grown to over 30,000 members, and I feel like we are just getting started.

That is the power of collaboration and connection.

So why am I telling you all this?

Because you have to start by thinking about who you want to become instead of only focusing on what you want to build.

What you build will always be a reflection of who you become. John Maxwell, author of The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership, begins with the Law of the Lid.

In essence, your business will never outgrow your leadership.Your results are a direct reflection of your leadership lid.

This means your greatest investment is not another tactic, funnel, or strategy—it is you.

Many agents and investors get stuck in the "doing" of the business because they fail to grow as leaders. So they repeat the same year over and over again, wondering why they are not moving forward faster ( I know, I've been there).

They often think the key is "Selling More," but it's not. It's growing your "Leadership Lid" and that of those around you.

So how do you do that?

Like any new skill, you need to become a student. You need to find mentors and coaching to help you grow. And here is a little secret...it starts with being a good self-leader first.

How can you possibly lead others when you have not mastered the ability to lead yourself?

So, how do you become a great self-leader?

Start by keeping the promises you make to yourself. Stop making excuses and start finishing all the things you said you would do.

Yes, it's hard AND....in the words of Rocky," That is how winning is done".

You are not going to get it right the first time, but you keep moving forward until you do.

Don't quit, everyone else does, but you're not everyone else.

Dare to become the person you see in your dreams.

So let me ask you again...

Who do you want to become?
